Tim Sheehy appointed to Board of Directors

Jim Popp, CEO of Johnson Financial Group, is pleased to announce the election of Timothy R. Sheehy to the Board of Directors for Johnson Financial Group, led by Chairman of the Board, Helen Johnson-Leipold. In late 2022, Sheehy announced plans to transition from his role as president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association for Commerce (MMAC) – a position he has held since 1992.

“Tim Sheehy is one of the most respected leaders in Wisconsin with an amazing track record of successful initiatives that have positively impacted our business environment and community health. I have known and worked with Tim for many years. I’m honored to have him join our JFG board,” said Johnson-Leipold.

“I’ve known Tim for more than 20 years and we’re so pleased that he has agreed to join our board. Tim understands the ins and outs of the business and political landscape in Wisconsin as well as anyone I know. We welcome his perspectives and insights as we continue to grow and expand our banking and wealth business in the State,” said Popp.

Sheehy shared, “I am excited to join the Johnson Financial Group Board and become part of a local, family company that I have respected for many years.”

Sheehy serves as Chair of the Southeastern Wisconsin Baseball Park District Board, he also serves on the boards of QPS Employment Group, City Forward Collective, Milwaukee College Prep, Rocketship Public Charter Schools, Reagan High School, and is Treasurer for Summerfest. He is a past Chair of the Milwaukee Development Corporation, and the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. Sheehy also served on the State of Wisconsin Investment board. He was appointed by 4 governors to Chair various state commissions.

Prior to joining MMAC, Sheehy was a recipient of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Congressional internship and served as legislative assistant to Congressman F. James Sensenbrenner. He received an honorary doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in political science and was a scholarship member of UW’s baseball team. He is married and has three children.
